How To Train With RICTAT To Become a Colon Hydrotherapist
This page provides an overview of the things to consider if you are thinking about applying to train as a colon hydrotherapist and what you can expect during your training with RICTAT. We’d very much encourage you to join this wonderful modality and join our RICTAT family.
Our training works to the national occupational standards and we have been training successfully for over sixteen years with prominent alumni who have gone on to work in the media as well as developing numerous clinic chains. Students also receive ongoing support after training in business set-up if required. Prospective students can speak to our prominent alumni before joining us to answer any questions.
Before you begin your practical training there are some course pre-requisites, we have several access routes depending on your experience.
If you hold a recognised certificate in Anatomy and Physiology level 3 or equivalent, you may apply to join our training. If you do not have this prerequisite qualification, you can study online with us.
Course Structure
First you receive your colon hydrotherapy manual for the precourse study. This will be followed by 4 online sessions via zoom-9:30-2:30
Session 1
Pre-Core-training virtual introduction
- Historical context for Colonic Hydrotherapy
- Naturopathic context for Colonic Hydrotherapy
- Physio-pathological reasoning behind contra-indications
- Red-flags and requirements for good case history taking and thorough examinations under supervision, clients are provided, you will also learn about.

Session 2
- Pathology & Medications Lab testing
- Recognising the signs and differences between IBS and IBD
- Understanding the influence of neurological diseases on bowel function and implication for Colonic Hydrotherapy
- Familiarising on medical bowel investigations, treatments and medications
- Assessing compatibility of medication and pathology with Colonic Hydrotherapy

Session 3
- Metabolism & detailed A&P of Pancreas, Kidneys and Liver
- Understanding the impact of stress on gut function and health
- Understanding metabolic health and insulin resistance
- Understanding Kidney function, liver function and biotransformation

Session 4
- Practitioner ethics & Marketing
- Understanding the elements of a professional practice and accountability including CPD & self-reflective practice and Ethics
- Understanding advertising standards and marketing of a Colonics Hydrotherapy practice
- Support on setting up personal goals and development

Your 7 day practical training will take place at one of our many Schools. There are six based in the UK, Sheffield, Lancashire, Hertfordshire, Southampton, Scotland and Northern Ireland and several overseas in the following locations, Ireland, Canada, Nigeria, Dubai, Ghana, Australia and South Africa.
During your practical training you will deliver 15 colon hydrotherapy treatments under supervision, clients are provided, you will also learn about.
There will be final exam lasting approximately 2 hours for students to demonstrate their knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology of the digestive structures and theory, in relation to the practical aspects of Colon Hydrotherapy. On completion of this module students will then present to their tutor 15 cases studies on treatments that they have undertaken.

Costs
Once you have decided which school you wish to attend you will be assigned a personal tutor to support your journey.
The cost of the course of the colon hydrotherapy course is £3500 (this includes registration with RICTAT and all teaching, practical treatments, exams and accreditation, no hidden costs. Payment credit schemes are available.
